This book is designed as a textbook, primarily intended for students in economics and beyond. It aims to provide a clear and accessible introduction to animals and their welfare while integrating advanced concepts where relevant.
My hope is that it can be used to include a chapter on animals within broader courses, such as agricultural economics, environmental economics, benefit-cost analysis, welfare theory, ecology, animal welfare or corporate social responsibility.
Starting in the fall 2025, I will put on this page various sets of slides that can be used freely by teachers in their course. [Please don't hesitate to contact me if you need the source document (beamer, ppt) for the slides.]
